These past few days I have been feeling “off” and my anxiety has been growing everyday as we stay cooped up in the house. So I have really been trying to make an effort to focus on myself throughout the day. Whether it’s meditation, working out, reading a book or eating healthy. All the things I love to help lift my spirits during this crazy, pandemic time.
What I helps me the most is getting in a good workout followed with a good stretch, and a healthy breakfast. Before I eat anything though I love to have an immune boosting shot. A flavourful, packs a punch drinks that I filled with so many health benefits! And it’s only three ingredients!
To start you need freshly squeezed lemon juice. This is the best, compared to container lemon juice, trust me! And don’t be afraid to leave some of the lemon pulp in your drink. Lemon pulp is a great soluble fibre that can help aid with digestion.
Then you will want to add some Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV). This liquid has been a craze for the past few years and still is because of its’ many benefits. From digestion, skin, blood sugar levels, heart health and many more! But if you find the ACV gives you heart burn, or an upset stomach, feel free to leave it out. TIP: drink lots of water with your shot.
Finally you want fresh ginger! I grate mine and let it soak in the ACV for a few minutes. Then I strain it into the cup. Followed by squeezing the lemon juice. You can blend this all together. But for such a small shot, it’s not worth the electricity.
That being said, you can make a large batch ahead of time. It’s only good for about 2-3 days because of all the acids, and I fine the flavour does get a bit weird. So I prefer to make mine fresh every morning, to really get hit with that fresh ginger flavour.
What I love about this recipe is that it is versatile. You can add turmeric and black pepper if you like,
honey, garlic, fresh orange juice. And ingredient that is going to benefit your body.

Immune Boosting Shot
Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp Organic Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 tsp freshly grated Ginger
- Half a Lemon
Instructions:
- Freshly grate the ginger using fine grater.
- Add the Apple Cider Vinegar and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Strain the mixture into a glass.
- Squeeze the lemon juice into the glass so you have the pulp in the glass.
- Enjoy!
You can also blend all of these ingredients together.
